Our VIP coaching process will be shaped by a core model called “the prosperity zone” composed of four key cornerstones: SELF, GROWTH, LIFE, and PEOPLE. It is the true story of high level performance and the touchstone of all our work as coaches and assistant coaches. You could call it our “unifying concept” because it characterizes how much coaching is fundamental to everything our clients do.
As I looked directly at what our coaching clients depend on from the helping process of coaching these four areas have within them an archetypal four-fold pathway to “the serial creator” (the self), “the economist” (the life), “the diligent engineer” (the growth), and “the multiplier” (people). These are certainly the core four of what our leaders eventually become as they get better.
The creator is the one who operates from a creative orientation to all of life, rather than a reactive one. This orientation becomes the source of learning by doing as one creates what matters to them, using successful failures and successes to build capacity. Beginning clients in VIP Coach often seek this transition from defense to offense, as a passage into the second half of life after halftime. They simply refuse to live the unlived life!
GROWTH is about building a sustainable business, one that is truly a business, not a job you own, and one that is sustainable, with data you can live by, if diligently engineered well. LIFE is about whole life integration. Our identity is not our business; we live Technicolor lives as whole people, seeking strong margins and mastery with our health, relationships, faith, finance, fun and more as we live interdependently, yet simple enough to foster new movement and disruptive change. We bring meaning, service, and mystery together as we walk the mystery path with practical feet. We realize there are no experts. We’re all just making this thing called life up as we go along.
And PEOPLE, we are gifted bosses to a unified team, and value creators to our most cherished clients standing in need of us, to build their dreams. We learn to listen to those around us to thrive, not just what we hear or edit with our assumptions.
Each of these—self, life, growth, and people are interdependent. When a unified team multiplies, the organization is profitable, and free time to enjoy life is accessible, we experience ‘creative freedom’ to liberate our gifts live with wiser care and discretion. When our lives are in order, and we’re creating what matters to us, and our clients are happy, they multiply, and we enjoy ‘creative value’ and ‘financial freedom’. And all of these, creative freedom, financial freedom, and creative value bring us into wholeness, with ‘creative purpose’ to live our lives authentically to the fullness of our potential, with an open mind, heart, and will. As we say: “hard work can never substitute intelligence.”
The economist is about removing non-essentials and waste to focus attention on the most important thing, while the creator is about creating our lives as art. What we make space for can move. We come into being via our connections with others, and multiply. Relationship is the organizing force of our universe. We wouldn’t position ourselves in our true properties (authentic self) without positive patterns of interaction with others who depend on our gifts for value creation (true work) and rewards. We experience ourselves in authentic ways via our open hearts and wills in the service of others, bringing a higher quality of attention and action to all we say and do, because expecting any opportunities.
And our businesses (GROWTH) are like oxygen for all of it, helping us move from time for money; to buying time with the money we generate (financial freedom). We should all create obscenely profitable businesses that have meaning and purpose, with noble guiding ideas and missions that evoke followers and unite teams.
The apex of all this is a combination of personal and wealth mastery, that when integrated gives rise to “THE PROSPERITY ZONE™” where spirituality and commerce can co-exist for a better world. If the character of business leaders improves, so too does the planet, because it is our business leaders who change teams, and in turn they change societies who makeup entire populations.
