To grow your business, you must manage a team. You are limited in your skills and can’t do it all yourself. A team is essential to your business growth, and those on this team must get right things done right. This is the role of management and will result in you being a gifted boss with a successful team.
A powerful tool. What lies outside of what you love to do? Next, think about your company goals. What do you want done in the next 90 or 180 days? You’re now looking at performance objectives, those objectives that will lighten your workload, for each job. You need to take inventory of each performance objective.
Performance objectives. You want measurable, specific, action oriented, smart, results based, and time bound performance objectives. Begin with a verb – facilitate, build, upgrade, etc. – and consider the results that you want from each objective. What will your team take off your plate? You should end up with three to five smart objectives and run with that.
