talent, and a huge compassion, I launched a journey in 1998 to help these entrepreneurs, and myself surpass this trap in their careers, and take delivery of a new domain, a new zone of freedom and confidence
full of satisfaction, confidence, and earning power that today I call "Endless Growth Mastery." It's a black belt in setting up a framework to create what you love, and love what you do---on-purpose.
I began my journey in Orange County California with my wife and son at my side as true believers, fired myself from two other business pursuits and put all I had on the line. As most entrepreneurs do, I started with nothing, just an idea that I was sold on in my heart and predicted I could be valuable doing this. I had been in and around the personal and professional training business since I was 17 years old. I got my undergraduate and graduate education from California Lutheran University in Management, with a minor in psychology by 1993 at 23 years old.
The roots of my background created a nice platform for the coaching business. At 19, in 1990, I was certified at HMI (the only college of hypnotherapy in the US) going through 1000 hours of residency and then seeing private clients for a wide array of phobias, bad habits, and psychological setbacks. Although I enjoyed the colleagues I created, and loved leading workshops and presentations, I began to see another side of human potential that ended my involvement.
I had put $100k into myself over 4 years from teenhood to adult, in seminars and trainings at the Summit Organization, designed much in the same way as EST, what is Landmark Forum today. The underlying premise was that I had to "fix" what was wrong with me, and discovered that people focused on what's wrong with them tend to be lousy creators. This premise drew me to coaching, in that the game was about creating what matters to you, independent of your flaws and issues. I had to get away from human potential, it had my mind, my money, and my life and it wasn't healthy. So I embarked with my dad on a world boat trip together for one year, which set the stage for a seminal change into everything my future needed to get me into where I am now.
After coming back, with a fresh mind in 1994, I joined up with a small business consultant working with George S May (small business management consulting) who led me in a new direction, in fact, I asked him if we could do a "call" together every week for 30 minutes to hold me accountable, give me feedback, make plans together and help me establish a sense of direction. What I didn't know at the time was that I was laying the framework for what was to be my career today, professional coaching. I also didn't know that the "system" I wanted as a consumer of this type of feedback and mode of interaction was to be the backbone of what is the VIP Coach system today! Four years later, in 1998 I redirected what I enjoyed being his coaching client toward others and took up "coaching."
I've studied with some of the best authors and coaches on the planet---EPS in San Diego and ASI in Wisconsin. These methodologies and assessments were used by the Olympic Training centers, Navy Seals, Citibank, and Apple. These areas were corporate coaching centric, and I had a love and understanding of the small business guy like me, in sales, whose life had gotten way to complicated. So I abridged the corporate wisdom to my own methods as a journeyman and took flight with a coaching model under several joint ventures with my core group of coaches and off we went, with me as the messenger at the helm and them as the secret boardroom masterminds. I sold coaching better than I delivered it but that soon changed. I took it from 13 to 25 coaching clients within 4 years, speaking all over the place, and loving what I was doing, but today after 11,500 hours at this, and 350 private clients later, I've come to some amazing theories and breakthroughs that I'm blessed to have witnessed from this long journey. The VIP Coach method became systemized over the last three years, with new lesson plans, concepts, focusing strategies, and models, etc. Today my phone is answered by assistant coaches. And today with the internet, my reach is worldwide as is my message! I think entrepreneurs are the role models of tomorrow, with so much good they can do for the world. They are the golden keys to our very sustainability on this planet. That is why I love helping them.
Within this pursuit, my core support team expanded to seven total to help me just coach, author, sell coaching, and speak(that's all I do), and delegate everything else. I came to know and work with an emerging model I've created called "Radical Creativity Theory" and what "Endless Growth Mastery" means when Creative Value and Freedom interact for business and personal leverage. I came to understand the world of today's professionals---physicians, CPA's, financial services, IT, real estate, and contractors. The service industry professional can shine in ways that make them immune to competition, commoditization from global business, and exhausting complexity. Instead of "why bother?", my clients feel they're getting the best out of their business pursuits. They have a great life after money.
Since 2006, I've translated my findings and discoveries in the coaching environment to three books available through major online book stores. I've authored three assessments of my own from business skills, to organization and simplicity, to effective communication and emotional intelligence. In 2007 I launched a podcast show called "No Hype Allowed" to take a closer look at human potential methods and how they don't measure up, and what you can do about it, instead of being fooled by lies and silliness.
So what I can bring a person like you is a lot of experience and finesse at creating what you want. I love delivering an inviting space, helping others learn the creative process in their lives, and help you see through the mirage of human potential into a greater capacity to be true to yourself and what is going on. I do 5-7 coaching calls per day. I work from a beautiful executive suite in three locations from California to Canada to Mexico, and we're now pursuing a coaching presence in 22 countries as the internet is our wings toward a future that is in need of this. I am now a father of three, and my wife's husband of 16 years.
I believe that today's business presents a need for transformative conversation, someone whose got your back as a skilful prodder, and a relationship that gives you the confidence that taking on what you're dreaming of is not a solo trek. Shared intelligence is greater than any individual intelligence. I believe that human beings in this time we're in are naturally busting open a hyper creativity that hasn't been as critical until now. For that to unfold to its fullest, it begins with relationship, dialog, inquiry, and a fever pitch pursuit of what one loves doing, and taking aim within it. You got a lot of music in you, let's play it all.
